Vesak Celebration of Consulate General of India, Hambantota

Consulate General of India, Hambantota  organized a Vesak Dansal on 05th May 2023, Vesak Full Moon Poyaday  at sacred Thissamaharama Raja Maha Viharaya in Hambantota District

02.       The Dansal was held in the presence of   Ven Dr Dewalagama Dhammasena Thero, Consul General , Vice Consul & other officials of the Consulate. They handed over food packets to the devotees who visited the temple.

03.       Parallel to the celebration, Consulate General of India, Hambantota also organized a Special Photo Exhibition on India’s rich Buddhist Heritage as a part of the Puddha Purnima Vesak Pinkama at Sanhgaraja Maha Viharaya, Ambalangoda from 1st May to 6th May 2023

04.       The Consul General Mr.  Dipin P.R.  inaugurated the “Buddha Purnima Vesak Pinkama” in the presence of Ven. (Dr.) Kosgoda Subuuti thero. The Exhibition was yet another testimony to India’s constant efforts to promote Buddhist heritage in India and across the world.
