Consul General of India, Hambantota Mr. Dipin P.R, called on Hon. Governor of Uva Province, His Excellency Mr. A.J.M. Muzammil at the Governor Secretariat in Southern Province on Wednesday, 14 October 2020 and held cordial discussions on further strengthening India Sri Lanka relationship in the Monaragala District.
02 Discussions focused on matters of mutual interest including Development Corporation by Government of India in Monaragala District, ITEC Collaboration, Cultural activities and Consul General also briefed the Governor about the Grant of USD 15 million announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for development of Buddhist ties between India & Sri Lanka during the recent virtual bilateral summit held on 26 September 2020.
03. Consul General thanked Governor of Uva Province for their support and assistance to the Consulate in organizing various activities in Monaragala District and the Governor also extended his support and cooperation to the new Consul General for his tenure.
