The Carpet Export Promotion Council (CEPC), set up by the Ministry of Textiles is organizing the the 45th Edition of the India Carpet Expo from 8 to 11 October 2023 at “Bhadohi Carpet Expo Mart” at Bhadohi, Uttar Pradesh (India) under the aegis of the Government of India.

2. The “India Carpet Expo" is flagship event and has attained the status of Asia’s largest handmade Carpet Fair. India Carpet Expo started in the year 2000 and is a biannual fair that attracts hundreds of buyers of Handmade carpets, rugs, and other floor coverings from more than 60 countries of the world. More than 200 Exhibitors represent carpet-producing areas like Bhadohi, Mirzapur, Varanasi, Agra, Jaipur, Panipat, and Srinagar, etc., and exhibit their wide range and varieties of handmade carpets, rugs, and other floor-coverings in the Expo.

3. Under the aegis of the Government of India, the selected Overseas Buyers of Handmade Carpets/Rugs, etc. shall be provided the following complimentary package for attending the India Carpet Expo, 8-11 October 2023 at Bhadohi:

·        Reimbursement towards Airfare, as a Subsidy upto USD 600/-

·        Complimentary Hotel accommodation upto 2 nights (Room rent with breakfast) in Varanasi between 7th October to 11th October, 2023.

·        The Council will also provide transportation from Hotel to Fair Venue during the Exhibition period.

4. The Consulate is of the view that, this would be a great opportunity for Sri Lanka companies and stakeholders in the sector interested in expanding their businesses in India.
