Vice Consul Ch. Ratnamala attended the inauguration ceremony of Hikka Fest 2025 on 17 October 2025 in Hikkaduwa. The ceremony was held in the presence of the Hon’ble Governor of the Southern Province, Bandula Harischandra, Deputy Minister of Fisheries Rathna Gamage, and Members of Parliament Nishantha Perera and T. K. Jayasundara, along with local officials and festival organizers.

Coinciding with the festival, the Consulate General of India, Hambantota organized a three-day Film Screening and ODOP–Tourism Exhibition from 17 to 19 October 2025. The initiative showcased Indian cinema, tourism destinations, and the One District One Product (ODOP) programme, providing visitors with insights into India’s cultural diversity and promoting closer cultural and people-to-people connections between India and Sri Lanka.
