The Consulate General of India, Hambantota, in collaboration with the Hambantota Young Men’s Buddhist Association and government institutions, celebrated the sacred Vesak Festival from 14th to 16th May 2025 with great devotion and cultural fervor. The event was graced by Hon. Ruwan Senarath, Deputy Minister of Provincial Councils & Local Government, and Hon. (Dr.) Sandaruwan Madarasinghe, Member of Parliament.
As part of the celebration, CGI Hambantota organized a photo exhibition on India’s Buddhist Heritage and vibrant Indian cultural performances, reflecting the profound spiritual ties and age-old friendship between India and Sri Lanka. The festivities highlighted shared values of peace, compassion, and mutual respect rooted in Buddhist traditions.
