Consulate General of India (CGI) Hambantota organized series of events at the University of Ruhuna during “Battle of Brotherhood Cricket Tournament” on the 29th and 30th of March 2024.  The highlight of the event “Battle of Brotherhood” was a cricket tournament held between the University of Ruhuna and the University of Jaffna. This spirited competition not only highlighted the athletic prowess of the participating teams but also embodied the spirit of camaraderie, aiming to bridge the cultural gap between communities and foster unity among youth. The event was supported by the Consulate General of Indian, Hambantota further enhancing its significance.

In conjunction with the tournament, a T20 cricket match was organized as the “Indian Consulate Challenge”. This special match added an extra layer of excitement and competitiveness to the event, reflecting the strong sporting ties between India and Sri Lanka.

The event culminated with a grand closing ceremony on the 30th of March 2024. During this ceremony, the winners of the T20 Match were awarded trophies by Smt. Ch. Ratnamala Vice Consul of CGI Hambantota. This gesture not only recognized the outstanding sporting achievements but also emphasized the importance of diplomatic relations and mutual respect.
