World Hindi Day 2019
The Consulate General of India, Hambantota is celebrating “World Hindi Day” on 19.01.2019. As part of the programme, the Consulate is organizing competitions in Hindi writing & vocabulary, elocution and singing and a Hindi Quiz. Participants would be awarded certificates and winners of the competitions would be given attractive prizes. Entry is free. Details of competitions are as follows:
I Hindi Writing & Vocabulary
(Participants would be required to write 2-3 paragraphs on the given picture in Hindi & translate/ write given English words into Hindi)
II Elocution - Poem or Speech:
(Participants have to recite a Hindi poem of their choice with a synopsis of the poem or speak on any one of the following topics for 3-5 Minutes [Candidates can use a memory aids])

(d)Sri Lankan Festival

III Singing of Hindi Songs (Film/ Non Film)
IV Hindi Quiz
(To be contested as a team comprising of two participants. There will be an Elimination Round & a Final Round comprising of four teams. Questions will be posed in Hindi on Hindi literature, Indian Culture, Arts and Cinema)
The winners will be announced at the end of the event. The prizes will be awarded on the same day after the completion of the event at the Consulate premises.
