Cultural Program on 27th March 2015 at Mahanaga Hall, Hambantota

Consulate General of India, Hambantota organized a Cultural Program on 27th March 2015 at Mahanaga Hall, Hambantota City at 06.00 pm. This event was a mixture of Indian and Sri Lankan dancing items performed by the local dancers along with the students who are learning Kathak dance at Indian Consulate General of India, Students of the Ridma Ranga Kalayathana and Dancing Students of Tzu-Chi National School in Hambantota. 

The event was attended by Mr. R C De Soysa, Government Agent as the Chief Guest. The programme was started by lightening the lamp by Mr. R C De Soysa followed by Mr. Shiv Darshan Singh, Counsellor (Cons) from HCI, Colombo and Consul General of India. The event was witnessed by near about 1200 locals. As the hall capacity is 1000 audience only, the extra crowd watched the show by standing at the doorways and windows of the hall.

The programme lasted for 3 hours. The locals appreciated the efforts of Consulate General of India, Hambantota in promotion of India – Sri Lankan dancing cultures on one stage.
