India 70 Celebrations - Rhythmscape in Matara

Consulate General of India, Hambantota in association with Indian Council for Cultural Relations, New Delhi organized “Rhythmscape” – a Fusion Percussion band performance by Pandit Bickram Ghosh and his troupe on 20th August 2017 at University of Ruhuna, Matara to commemorate 70 years of India’s Independence. The event was supported by University of Ruhuna and included a Lecture cum demonstration interaction with the students on August 19. The performance on 20th August at the University of Ruhuna was presided over by Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ruhuna, Consul General of India-Hambantota and the Deans and heads of various faculties of the University. The event was witnessed by about 300 people. The one and half hour performance by the Tabla maestro Bickram Ghosh and his band enthralled and wowed the audience. They enjoyed the programme and appreciated the efforts of Consulate General of India, Hambantota in bringing such internationally acclaimed artistes to Sri Lanka.
