As a part of celebrating 75 years of India’s Independence (Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav) Consulate General of India, Hambantota in association with Old Hindi Films & Songs Lover's Society, Colombo & Southern Provincial Ministry of Sports, Youth Affairs & Culture organized “Suhani Yaadein” An Evening of Old Bollywood Songs on 22nd September 200 at Hall De Galle Auditorium, Galle. The Musical Evening was performed by a group of singers and orchestra artists from Old Hindi Films & Songs Lover’s Society, Colombo and the occasion was graced by the (Dr). Willie Gamage, Southern Provincial governor Hon’ble Mr. Shantha Weerasekara, District Secretary, Galle, Mr. Bimal Indrajith De Silva Secretary, Southern Provincial Ministry of Sports, Youth Affairs & Culture, Mr. A U Welarathne, Secretary, Southern Provincial Ministry of Agriculture, RAdm. Harendra Ekanayake, Southern Area Commander of SL Navy, Mr. Nuwan Vedasinghe, Deputy Inspector General, Galle, Senior Prof. Sujeewa Amarasena, Vice Chancellor, University of Ruhuna and many other government dignitaries. More than 200 distinguished witnessed the programme including many prominent local personalities.
